Service Projects  (Click this link to view featured details)

· Provide Comfort Kits to hospitals across two counties for sexually abused victims.

· Sponsor 4.0 GPA Student Recognition Scholarships for seniors and two luncheons at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion honoring students with a 4.0 GPA from five local high schools.

· Tutoring in the local area.

· Provide funding for educational materials for students at the Literacy Council of Garland County, as well as assist in their fundraising and student recognition activities.

· Support literacy by ushering at the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Children's Concert in Hot Springs.

· Provide a nursing scholarship at National Park College.

· Support “Make a Difference Day” — Purchase dictionaries for local schools’ third graders; present dictionaries in classrooms in conjunction with a reading/learning opportunity.

· Sponsor high school Career Days at Jessieville and Mountain Pine High Schools.

· Participate in the “Keep Hot Springs Village Beautiful” clean up three times per year.

· Volunteer at the Village Loan Closet in Hot Springs Village.

· Deliver and stock Reading Boxes at local shelters with free books and magazines.

· Participate in Patriotic Observances.

 

 

Fundraising Activities

A major fundraiser is held in the fall.  All profits from our fundraisers go to support our

many community service projects, such as those listed above. 

 

Foundation

Altrusa International Foundation of Hot Springs Village, Inc. is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, educational, literacy and scientific purposes as a non-profit foundation within the meaning of the IRS code of 1986.  As a 501(c)(3) corporation, this permits the Foundation to receive and distribute contributions with the tax advantages of this code.
